First off, you should stop thinking whatever you're thinking about Amy unless you want Chris Hansen to show up at your door. Amy's going to be an 8th grader this fall. That makes her 13 and that makes you a pedophile :)
She might just be the tallest 8th grader I've ever met. Towering in at 5'10" she shoots extremely tall. I remember being at the end of the studio to fit her entire length at 70mm.
Anyhow, as a continuation of our military-inspired shoot in the desert. Sean furnished some powerful outfits for us this time in the studio. While most of the sets are ones that I've used in the past, the feeling/look of the images changed drastically in post-processing. Consistent with my experimentation, I pushed the artistic license of retouching and gave each set a particular look and feel. Have a look!

Hey Charles,
ReplyDeleteI pulled a co-worker aside earlier today and asked her, "Hey, how old do you think this girl is?"
Without hesitating, she responded, "13 years old."
"What? How'd you know?" I couldn't tell from the makeup and the dress.
"Because young girls have perfect skin. No wrinkles."
What in tarnation? I thought the girl was young, maybe 18-20 but not 13. My age gauge must be malfunctioning.
Oh, and by the way, these images are incredible. I like how you went with the green tones in post-processing.
ReplyDeleteThat's not fair. All of my pictures portray models with flawless skin! Does that mean your co-worker would say all my models are 13? No way!
ReplyDeleteI call BS. It ain't just the skin!
Thanks for the compliment! I somehow arrived with a green tone totally independent of the military theme though I would have loved to say "yeah I considered that". It was really just an experiment in PS when I started editing these images. The last set (the 4-some) was shot on grey seamless background paper ;) somehow the skin tones stayed intact... damned if I know how that works...
Hullo Charles,
ReplyDeleteNo, it's probably not just the skin. It's probably due to the fact that she has a daughter around the same age :)
Now that I look at your photos of Amy again, she definitely looks under-aged. I still wouldn't say she was 13... probably 15 to 17 if I hadn't known. Even still, I didn't see any girls this mature-looking when I was growing up. But then again, I was raised in Texas! :)
All the kids these days are on BHG - bovine growth hormone :) we do live in interesting times though don't we? :)
